 What is discrimination ? |
| Discrimination is the unfair treatment of a person or group on the basis of prejudice. Discrimination can be seen almost everywhere, in the school yard, on the street and sometimes even in your own home. People discriminate against various differences e.g. physical and mental disability, appearances, race and sex. The main type of discrimination is racial discrimination, this is when people are treated unfairly because of their race, colour descent, national origin or ethnic origin. There are laws against discrimination, but a lot of people ignore these laws. People become ignorant and feel they are more superior, so they discriminate. In everyday society you will come across at least one person who has been discriminated against. Sometimes we don't see discrimination happen all the time, but it is definitely there. We need to put a stop to discrimination and treat everyone equally. |
